New Life on Mars? (APOD 12 Nov 2003)

We've sent a collection of robot explorers to Mars. They've been there a while.

We know the assembly teams were careful to make sure they were clean.
We know the conditions of space travel were harsh.
We know that the climate on Mars is very different from that on the Earth, and is very cold and without much atmosphere.

But...

Isn't it possible some microbe has hitched a ride on one of the robots, and is right now staking out a foothold on Mars?

Yea it is possible i think. Smile

, we are not the only planet that hav life on it. Moon hav it (life) on the lense of the explorer ship " surveyor" that land there in 1960's. So we may hav start life on mars. What it will do later in a few thousand to million of years from now is unknown. Hmm keep in mind we might hav not yet put life on mars. It is a possibility that human did it but we aint sure yet. Anyway, it might (life) find it hard to live and prosper there.

I suppose we'll know if parts of Mars start to turn green.

hmmm, and then there are those of us readers that think Mars was full of life up till about 50 to a hundred years ago.
