Anyone know what the strange whispy streaks are which are not rings? They look almost like aurorae

Lens-artifact flares? (Think of taking a picture with the sun just out of the frame.)
Why is there no Saturn-shadow cast on the rings?
What about that nightside equatorial dark band?

I'm thinking the light reflected from the more-outer rings is shaded by the "inner-more" rings, leaving the thin shadow line between the two hemispheres' ring-glow reflections, which gradually recede with increasing lattitude. Who'd have guessed it?
A darned nice picture, Cassini team!
