What a beautiful view of a rocket launch. With booster technology not changing much over the years; why drop the Titan?

Who manufactured the Titan?
What is the follow up launch platform? Who is the manufacturer of the replacement?
First time poster here - great idea for a site - great pictures!

Try clicking on the links. The APOD people do a bang up job of providing great links that will answer most of your questions.
Considering the retrograde direction NASA is now going with it's space program, I would have to say that the Saturn and Atlas rockets would be their choice for replacement rockets.
