I have heard of the Cheshire Cat, of course, and its smile without a cat. And I have heard about the poor unfortunate Schrödinger's Cat, whose fate, even as a thought experiment, made me upset. Why lock a poor cat in a box which has a 50% chance of killing the cat within an hour? Just to demonstrate quantum superpositions?
