I had three of the Meade LS series, a 6 and two 8 inchers...they all failed... don't get one. As a replacement and exchange, Meade did get me an 8" LX 90... pretty nice, it worked out of the box, did not need a firmware re-install, plus they gave me a LPI Lunar/planetary color camera...will have to install SP3 on my laptop though... however, my DSI II color camera was used to take these first shot with the LX90... 40 and 24 images stacked...hope you enjoy...
Smudge in upper left of first pic is a camera artifact.

Re: Moon Test with my new LX-90
Well done. Was the moon somewhat low on the horizon, or were you using a glare reduction filter? The moon looks redder than normal.
Just as zero is not equal to infinity, everything coming from nothing is illogical.
