Explanation: There were no crowds on the beach at Phillips Lake, Oregon on August 21. But a few had come there to stand, for a moment, in the dark shadow of the Moon. From the beach, this unscripted mosaic photo records their much anticipated solar eclipse. In two vertical panels it catches the last few seconds of totality and the first instant of 3rd contact, just as the eclipse ends and sunlight faintly returns. Across the US those gathered along the path of totality also took pictures and shared their moment. And like those at Phillips Lake they may treasure the experience more than any planned or unplanned photograph of the total eclipse of the Sun.
<<Diana was the Roman goddess of the hunt, the moon, and nature being associated with wild animals and woodland. She was eventually equated with the Greek goddess Artemis. Artemis was bathing in the woods when the hunter Actaeon stumbled across her, thus seeing her naked. He stopped and stared, amazed at her ravishing beauty. Once seen, Artemis got revenge on Actaeon: she forbade him speech — if he tried to speak, he would be changed into a stag — for the unlucky profanation of her virginity's mystery. Upon hearing the call of his hunting party, he cried out to them and immediately transformed. At this he fled deep into the woods, and doing so he came upon a pond and, seeing his reflection, groaned. His own hounds then turned upon him and pursued him, not recognizing him. In an endeavour to save himself, he raised his eyes toward Mount Olympus. The gods did not heed his plea, and he was torn to pieces. In an embroidered extension of the myth, the hounds were so upset with their master's death, that Chiron made a statue so lifelike that the hounds thought it was Actaeon.>>

Alexander331, not an HDR. Two single shots stitched together. Follow the last link in the APOD text, then go to the "The shot" section near the end.
Songs!! I named the image "The Great Gig in the Sky" in part because, if you read the story (again, last link in the APOD text), you'd know the song played a few minutes before totality on this beach, while everything was happening (the entire Dark Side of the Moon played, actually). "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" will have to wait for some other time
Best,

That girl looks so unreal just like painting.
Why is the reflection brighter than the body?
I hope to see the untouched photo, 100% cropped is fine.
