This question often occurs to me in viewing APOD. What would some of these amazing images appear like if you were actually 'there'. In some cases I suspect the answer would be very surprising. Some of these giant gas trails are only a handful of molecules per cc, so in some cases you may actually not see anything.
Anyway, has anyone actually attempted to put together views of classical astronomical vistas from 'other perspectives', based on the local perspectives and other data that we have? Thanks / regards to all
