Explanation: How will cows survive on the Moon? One of the most vexing questions asked about space, scientists have spent decades debating this key issue. Finally, after extensive computer modeling and over a dozen midnight milkings, engineers have designed, built, and now tested the new Lunar Grazing Module (LGM), a multi-purpose celestial bovine containment system. By now, many of you will not be surprised to be wished a Happy April Fool's Day from APOD. To the best of our knowledge, there are no current plans to launch cows into space. For one reason, cows tend to be large animals that don't launch easily or cheaply. As friendly as cows may be, head-to-head comparisons show that robotic rovers are usually more effective as scientific explorers. The featured image is of a thought-provoking work of art named "Mooooonwalk" which really is on display at a popular science museum.
Love it! I wonder if zero-g milk would taste different? =>
Hope everyone has a wonderful April Fools Day!

The 'jazz for cows' was a very mooving experience for the cows.

Goats are much more appropriate for space, since they are smaller, give more milk per pound, and are very robust, needing no oxygen and able to forage on nothing but moon rocks. NASA wasted a lot of money on this new boondoggle.

Excuse me for bringing it up, but how about all the dung?
Edit: Answere myself. At last they will have some use for all those craters. Didn't think of that.

Believe it or not, but people have been killed by cows (in German). I haven't heard of something like this of goats, giving them another advantage over cows in space.

That is not the way it would be done anyway.... You have habitat, not suits.... You do not launch cows, but baby calves, much less mass.... You then have craters that are airlocked habitats....

Got me!
I forgot what day it was until about halfway through the text.
Excellent heads up before I go look at the rest of the interwebs.

That's ridiculous! If we send goats we'll have to put chicken wire around the landing gear!

We're whalers on the moon. We carry a harpoon. But there ain't no whales so we tell tall tales and sing this whaling tune.

And I thought the “facilities” on the ISS looked complicated. Maybe they could design an escape hatch but then we’d have to tell future lunarnaughts not to eat moon pies.

The time has come to Cowlinize the Moon.

There are no cows in space.
At least, there were none until a certain intrepid space-cowboy took a job...
Neil Hoofstrong and Buzz Angus landed on the Moon.
Michael Cowlins jumped over the Moon.

Too bad it won't happen. We could have the herd shot round the world.

I thought NASA was going to launch several of these in orbit so they would be the herd shot round the world.

IMHO, that cow spacesuit is missing a LOT of processing equipment towards the rear end. Probably not shown for security reasons. PLUS - cows don't need no stinkin' NASA, as shown below :
