Last year, the
2014 APOD Wall Calendar was downloaded about 100,000 times to good review. We expect to release the 2015 APOD Calendar in early September and are now applying the finishing touches. To help the APOD crew create a useful product, please help us to understand how you used the 2014 APOD Calendar (if you did). If you have any comments or an interesting story about the 2014 APOD Wall Calendar, please share them below!

I kept the pdf file for myself and printed out a few copies and bound them as gifts to folks who don't have easy web access. Also emailed the pdf file to a couple of family members and gave the url to several other colleagues and friends so that they could print out the calendar themselves. All of the above were well received.

Put the dates on the calendar correcty, then I'll be interested in promulgation. The year shoud always precede the month and the month should always precede the day because nobody ever wrote time m:s:h or s
h and since the Date-Time-Group is correctly presented Y/M/D H:M:S (DOW)

I was not aware of the 2014 APOD calendar until today; how was it advertised?
I will probably not use the 2015 APOD calendar because I like the three-month government calendar with the DOY on it.

Well, APOD had a few links to it:
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap131118.html
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap131124.html
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap131126.html

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140203.html
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140218.html
It was advertised a few times on the APOD FB page, for example, in these posts:
https://www.facebook.com/AstronomyPictu ... 0853159713
https://www.facebook.com/AstronomyPictu ... 6020326863
https://www.facebook.com/AstronomyPictu ... 8817113250
It was tweeted by the APOD Twitter feed; here are a couple such tweets:
https://twitter.com/apod/status/418212341004513280
https://twitter.com/apod/status/403913644838105088 (243 retweets on that one)
A few others tweeted about it, too:

https://twitter.com/Space_Lectures/stat ... 0033539072
https://twitter.com/larry_kunz/status/4 ... 1817017344
And reddit, Scribd, and a few different discussion forums mentioned it and had links to it, if Google results for "APOD 2014 calendar" can be believed.
I haven't and am not going to check all the foreign mirrors, but apparently,
some number of
them also posted links about the calendar.
Apparently, this wasn't enough; what other ways should it be advertised? (I'm not being snarky here... I really do want to know because others have also mentioned not being aware of it.) What else would help to get the word out about it?

I downloaded it, saw that phases of the moon WERE NOT shown, and never looked at it again. A shame too. Nice pix there. Knowing when the moon is bright or dark is the #1 use I get out of a calendar.
