This peculiar interacting galaxy pair is also known as Arp 166. Near the bottom right corner is the shell elliptical galaxy NGC 736.

Phil Plait featured this last year and called it a space jellyfish but I think it looks like a big, fluffy, calico cat paw smacking the surface of some water.

I saw that, but it was a little bit differently processed and not quite as striking. Or maybe it's a deeper image? Not sure, so I decided to re-post.

The image you have posted is exactly identical to the one I posted, no changes in processing.

There is a possibility that I have never posted the NOAO image for some reason?!

This planetary nebula was discovered by the French amateur astronomer Laurent Ferrero in November 2013. It was confirmed to be a true planetary nebula in January 2014.
