Set of very old moon at Tibet, 4300m alt. Taken during our Tibet Star Party on 2013-12-29
UT 07:56
Moon age 27th (Phase 13.85%)
Elevation 2°33'
Borg 60ED + Canon 5D Mark II
The atmospheric transparency that day is just typical, not the best by Tibet standard.

At the following link I have posted a few images of the superb Moon-Venus conjunction which took place yesterday. The images were acquired both in daytime and at sunset. The daytime image shows the true conjunction with the two celestial objects at their minimal distance in right ascension. The sunset images show the superb view that many observers had. All views were acquired from the Bucegi Mountains in Romania.

Universo sumergido
The intense greenhouse effect generated by human activity has completely melted the existing ice around the globe.
The water has invaded most of the lands so far emerged. Only the highest mountain ranges have been out of the water.
From beneath these waters are the stars rising above the trees now submerged.
Orion, Jupiter and The Hyades are floating above the global ocean.
(A one degree above zero, and the lens was so fogged, as if underwater)

Thanks for looking, Dan

This spin-art looking image of the sunset was not the result of digital brush strokes and endless photoshopping. Rather it was created by fusing the "least blue" and most vibrant image data from 1000 time lapse frames into a single image. The motion of the clouds towards the camera and the changing color highlights as the sun sets creates these painterly trails. The source time lapse series can be seen here:
