Starship Asterisk*

Here's a short slideshow of the 17 year cicadas one day above ground, when they breed and die.
The first thing they do is shed their underground casing and dry out, so they can extend their wings and rub them together to attract mates.
Oh yeah, it's the males that come out of the ground first.
