I've got to tell you this. Some years ago a friend of mine sent me an article in German about Eta Carinae, and my knowledge of German is... not good. So my friend translated it into English, using Google Translate. Guess what? Eta Carinae was called... an asterisk!!! Seriously!!!!! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Google also managed to say that the asterisk of Eta Carina sat in a fog. Well, the fog was the Carina nebula, of course! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Maybe Google Translate would describe Eta Carinae a bit like this?

There is also a Bing Translator, for those who prefer Microsoft. I use it when the Google translation doesn't seem to quite make sense to me. Of course, if you prefer, there is always BabelFish. The problem I have with BabelFish is often I don't know what language I'm translating from, and its free online version doesn't have an auto-detect.

I think that Google Translator is good. But sometimes there are errors
in technical words and certain phrases.
