I just got an e-mail pointing out this image:
Michael Murphy from U. Cambridge (UK), who sent me the link, guesses that this is a "Huntsman" spider of about 5 cm length.
I guess we have one of the few systems that needs to be "debugged" in more than one way.

This spider, or one of its prodigy more likely, was spotted near concam a few days ago around dusk. Evidently it comes out of a hole around the pier and runs around the outside.
It is only a wee one about 4-5cm across.
