Just 5 x 1,000 second blue subs plus 5 x 200 second subs in each of red, green and blue, all at f/7 using a TEC 140 telescope plus an FLI ML16803 camera. Processing via PixInsight and Photoshop. More detail in this thread over at the Stargazer's Lounge.

A night at Wallaman Falls, Queensland, Australia. A bright meteor crosses the Milky Way, while the light of the gibbous Moon causes a moonbow with the waterfall.

Copyright: Jean-Luc Dauvergne I thought that I missed this very bright and impressive meteor (brighter than Venus). Fortunatly I had a fish eye lense on one of my cameras and it took it !
I was in Iceland for one weeek, and the biggest auroral activity occured when I was at the
Jökulsárlón on september 19th. The weather was nearly perfect. What a luck !
I think that this incredible place may be one of the most beautifull landscape in the world to photography with notherne ligths.

This lake is the interface between the biggest galcier in Europe (the Vatnajökull), and the ocean.
Jökulsárlón means "glacial river lagoon" in Icelandic

In 1611 Cigoli, a friend of Galileo's painted the first cratered moon as he saw it through Galileo's telescope. The painting is the first visual arts representation of a telescope imaged moon. The full painting is of the Virgin Mary standing on the moon, it is on the ceiling of the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. The full painting can be seen here

After adding the Ha data - I discovered the "Seahorse nebula" - just Lower Right of the Ray..

Standard Hubble palette by stretching Ha, OIII and SII so that their histogram match each other and map SII to red, Ha to green, OIII to blue Using the image above but putting more color emphasis on the different contributions Similar to the Standard Hubble image above but with a different color mapping: SII to red, Ha to orange, OIII to turquoise In order to use narrowband data to mimic an RGB image, one recipe is to use the following color map: Red = 0.8 Ha + 0.2 SII, Green = OIII, Blue = 0.85 OIII + 0.15 Ha Adjusting the relative strength of the narrowband contribution one can obtain a more realistic RGB image, here the OIII contribution has been dialed down Just for fun one can go the other way around and use a color mapping that is basically RGB, but where the OIII data has been dialed up in order to show the different gas regions (as a Hubble palette)

This picture was almost-final view of ATV-3 seen in orbit and shows the orbits of both the International Space Station (brighter dotted line) and ATV-3.
I took this picture in Chiba, Japan on 2 October 2012 at around 4:30 JST. This picture is a composite of 457 pics.
ATV-3 Edoardo Amaldi undocked from the International Space Station on 28 September and completed the final part of its six-month servicing mission to the International Space Station by reentering the atmosphere on 3 October and burning up as planned over an uninhabited area of the southern Pacific ocean.(This sentence is quotation from ESA.)

Variable star V1515 Syg - The catalog name of the peculiar star at the down right of the image is V1515 Cyg. This is a variable star of FU Ori type. Since 1958 the star is in its maximum with slow light variations about <= 1.6m.

This image is a 14 hour integration of Lynds Bright Nebula LBN 438 captured at F/2.8 700mm FL with my ASA N10 Newtonian Astrograph. This is a dark nebula in a the constallation Lacerta.

The image was processed in PixInsight by Yuriy Toropin of Moscow Russia.

While the cold dark nebula is the focus of the image what is most interesting are the galaxies in the background. Take a look around and see how many you can find. I have discovered 11. The face on galaxy at the top just left of center is PGC 69439 and the face on galaxy just above the second red star to the left of the skinny center part of the nebula is PGC-69518 and is estimated to be 195 million lights years distant.

On the right hand side of the nebula, just to the left and up from the largest red star is PGC-69400, another face on galaxy.

Another clear face on galaxy can be found in the bottom left hand portion of the image, near the largest bright blue star. Just under the top left hand difraction spike is PGC 2101898.

Overall, I have counted 8 very distinct galaxies and over a dozen including some small smudges.

While the nebula is obviously the main focus of the image, the background galaxies are certainly a noteworthy subject of the image.
