Prominence Burst
A substantial solar prominence rose and broke apart as it flung itself into space (July 27-28, 2012) as observed by the STEREO (Behind) spacecraft in extreme UV light. Soon after that, an active region near the Sun?s edge began spurting out at least 10 flares, one almost right after the other. All in all, it made for an interesting 36 hours of solar observing.
