Hi folks,
M31 - H-alpha enhanced:
'Scope: TEC 140
Mount: ASA DDM60 Pro mount - an awesome bit of kit as even the 1,500 second subs were unguided!
Camera: FLI ML16803
Subs: 5 x 1,000 seconds using each of Astrodon Tru-Balance RGB filters plus 10 x 1,500 seconds using an Astrodon 3nm Hα filter
Software: PixInsight and Photoshop CS6
The aim was to blend the H-alpha emission in such a way that it didn't dominate but nicely showed up the association of star formation with the spiral structure. The disruption to the symmetrical spiral structure is a result of which satellite galaxy?
Bob.

"It Was A Great Show"
http://www.rddnj.com
This picture were taken in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The date was July 24, 2012 and the time was between 9:30 and 10:00PM. There was Thunder and Lightning but very little rain. I used my Canon XSi and my Canon 18-55MM lens set at 55MM on a Fixed Tripod. I have over 100 pictures with lightning in the frame that range in length from 3 to 10 second exposures. This is not a stacked photo. The Lightning you see in each photo is what was captured in that exposure. It was like a Fireworks show. Lasted over 1 hour. No more than 20 seconds would pass without lightning in the sky. Only work done to this photo was to sharpen and adjust color and contrast. That work was done in Ulead and Photoshop. Pictures were downsized in Picture Project. I have 6 more posted on my website.

Full moon & rainbow

Full moon & rainbow
I have the honor to submit this picture, most for its educational values !
this is evening, Sun has just fallen under the horizon, and the rain has just stoppped.
As usual in same conditions a gorgeous rainbow deploys its pastel colors.
But today it was a full moon ! So logically,
full moon can't appear anywhere else than the center of this rainbow.
