Fornax dwarf galaxy and NGC 1049
Credit and Copyrights: Data from Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS 2) and Hubble Legacy Archive (HLA). Processing of DSS 2 and HLA data: Gilles Chapdelaine
The Fornax dwarf galaxy is one of our Milky Way’s neighbouring dwarf galaxies. At least 6 globulars clusters had been identified in this galaxy; the largest, NGC 1049 is indicated by the arrow on left image of DSS 2, and shown with a much better resolution, of course, with data provided by the HLA (right image).
