Fantastic picture of starforming complex in the LMC

Post by Ann » Sun Jan 15, 2012 11:12 am

I can't resist posting this fantastic image of a great starforming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

I couldn't locate the image back to its original source, but I can see from its web address that it has been an Astronomy Picture of the Day. I can see something that looks like a date, too: 0803. What does that mean? March 2008? August the third?

I think the name of the person behind the image is Goldman, again judging from the address, which is http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/0803/N4 ... oldman.jpg.

Do you know how to find this APOD?

Two easy ways to find it. Use the APOD search feature and search for goldman, or go to the calendar page for 2008 March /0803/.
