Underwater Volcanos and Nebula...

I'm very much a Backyard Astronomer (though my back yard has two national parks and multiple wilderness areas). I was looking at photos of the underwater volcano in the Canary Islands (El Hierro island). One photo in particular made me think of the multiple photos of Planetary Nebula on APOD. I know that we don't know exactly why and how those nebula form and look the way they do.
Now I understand the densities are vastly different, but I wonder how different are the dynamics involved.
Well, densities and Gravities... The bubbles from the volcano aren't just bubbling OUT they are also bubbling UP.
at the least, it might make a great photo comparison like the microbio / astro photo quiz from just a bit ago.
