Happy Father's Day to all the fathers here...
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers here...
... with or without "grand," "step," "great grand," or other prefixes afore the title of "father"!

I'm fairly certain that before one could acquire the the prefix "grand" or "great grand", one must have been a father first.

very cavalier bystander....very cavalier indeed
Re: Happy Father's Day to all the fathers here...
Ah, well, I must admit it's all speculative and based purely upon personal experience. Having acquired the prefix "great grand" myself, I remember distinctly having previously acquired the "grand" prefix (x 4), and before that, having no prefix at all. Somewhere in there, I also acquired the "step" prefix, but I am convinced, at least for the time being, that it has no connection to the other prefixes.
Anyway, I will echo owlice's sentiments "Happy Father's Day!" to all fathers, regardless of which of the aforementioned prefixes you may (or may not) have acquired.

It's Father's Day! Without your dad, you wouldn't be here. But don't think about the mechanics of that too much.

Great Grand bystander. Sounds like a Title for a Head moderator for the Asterisk Lodge. Do we have a Lodge??

Yes, you're hosting the next meeting at Milliways. Are you prepared? Do you have your towel?

Geez By, I knew you had a head of hair that even I was jealous of, but I had no idea you had acquired the prefix of "great" yet. Even more jealous!
Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.
Re: Happy Father's Day to all the fathers here...
Yes, I made that assumption last year, but you were not buying it then and wanted to know whether great grands were included! So there!bystander wrote:Having acquired the prefix "great grand" myself, I remember distinctly having previously acquired the "grand" prefix (x 4), and before that, having no prefix at all.
(Hope you, and all dads, had and are having a great grand day!)

Tell you what, 'IF' you can get there, i'll be prepared. I don't have a towel. I switched to rooting for the New England Patriots before the Pittsburg Steelers came out with the 'Terrible Towel'.bystander wrote:Yes, you're hosting the next meeting at Milliways. I would have said you qualify, but it's a little late for this year. Next year you will definitely qualify. Congratulations.Orca wrote:What about "honorary father?" My wife and I are expecting our first! :
