Okay, not really light sabers, as you know, but rather the passage of Discovery and the ISS, respectively, through Orion.

3 faces of the moon from Stockholm, Sweden
All images © 2011 - Peter Rosén

A tiny crescent at sunset on the 5th of march 2011.
The moon was only 20h 40m old when it passed the church 1.6 miles away and less than 1° above the horizon.
The weather was so clear I was able to follow it all the way down behind the trees.

The next day, the 6th of march, I imaged the elusive features on the 1.7 days old moon when it was between 6° and 2° above the horizon

On the 8th of march I captured the moon with a strong earthshine on a starfield background.
To handle the extreme contrast of the scene I composited several pictures spanning 11,5 exposure steps.
