This is the Hubble Spase Telescope image from 2005. Hovering the mouse over the image will reveil the image taken on November 14th 2010 with the 2m RCC telescope at Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory. The expansion of the nebula for a 5 years period is clearly seen. Bigger mouseovers could be seen here:

Adam, I'm glad to see your image of NGC 1999. (Sounds like a twelve-year-ago nebula, doesn't it?)
It's fascinating to see this light blue reflection nebula awash in a sea of otherworldly dark redness. (That's because all that redness is a large faint emission nebula, of course.) The black thing in the blue reflection nebula looks really weird, but I think that the latest theory about that black shape is that it really is a hole!
Anyway, your image brings out a wealth of detail and colors, so thanks!
Ann
P.S. I can't say that your image is a lot like a William Turner painting, but there is a slight similarity there, anyway. Like Turner, you have "painted" a landscape awash in color!

There are many nice "clouds" here!
I've never seen a Sun pillar actually emerge in full view from the Sun, and then continue below the Sun, too!
The Moon looks fantastic and eerie and almost otherworldly in Luca Vanzella's picture, too. That picture would make a nice painting!
There are two nice pictures of M81 here, one in clear weather, one in driving mists!
I like the picture of the Beehive Cluster. This cluster is fascinatingly full of apparent wide binaries, sometimes in contrasting colors.
There is something fascinating about Mark Manner's Gibbous Moon and Clouds. The blue sky reminds me of a narrowband portrait of oxygen emission, and the deep orange clouds look darkly otherworldy, too.

Hello
Here is a sunset at Cooper Pedy, an Australian town, called the “opal capital of the world”, in the Outback (cf.
http://www.cooberpedy.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=191 ). The population was less than 2,000 people over there, in 2006.
Thanks for looking,
Best regards,
Céline
