Hello
Here is a sunset over the Atlantic Ocean, i took in last November.
If you like double rainbows, i have taken one here. It seems that it is due to the fact the ground is very wet, so the rainbow reflects on the forest. There are ponds in the forest, but not huge lake. There was one big lake, but it drained.
The explanation is here:
http://asterisk.apod.com/vie ... 82#p138382
If you seek more beautiful rainbows with explanations, you can go here to entrance of this very website:
http://www.atoptics.co.uk/bows.htm (thank you Chris for this link!). This is a great webite
Have a very nice day!
Céline

Zodiacal Light, the Galactic Center, and the Paranal Residencia Building

I took this picture last month (November 6th) where we can really see the zodiacal light "pointing" at the galactic center just above the famous Paranal Residencia Building. In addition, during this 20-second exposure, a car drove past to enter the parking lot where I was standing. Paranal observatory is an extremely dark site, the few car that circulate at night use their low lights, only a 20-second exposure can reveal them with such brightness.

Even with the larger image i almost missed the sunspot. That thing is smaller than a baby fruitfly on a "nilla' wafer

lol!
It's a gorgeous image, isn't it? All greys and soft yellows, and beautifully composed.
