Hello,

this is my first post on Asterisk. After seeing recently submitted images I find my post as very impertinent, because the quality of my images is at much lower level from what I have seen above. Anyway I'd like to share my latest work with you. Thank you for your patience and sorry to bother :)

best regards

Hello,
At that moment, we have got ready LMC version in Ha with desctriptions.

Identified objects:

204 nebular complexes from catalogs: DEM L; LMC-N and BSDL (or 276 if
includes smaller parts of larger structures, e.g., LMC-N 57A)
- 18 SNR
- 4 (and fifth possible) SGS (supergiant shells)
- 3 galaxies

- and also 4 nebulae received common names (Dragon's head, Honeycomb,
Papillon, Tarantula)

Names of catalogues:

LMC-N = LHA 120-N [Lamont-Hussey alpha, field 120: LMC, Nebula]
DEM L [Davies+Elliot+Meaburn; LMC]
BSDL [Bica+Schmitt+Dutra+L.Oliveira]
SNR - supernova remnant
SGS - supergiant shell [J. Meaburn]

I really liked seeing the image by Robert Gendler, Uffe Graae Jørgensen and Kennet Harpsøe. The picture is top notch, but I also enjoyed seeing Uffe Graae Jørgensen's name. I think he is extremely likable Danish astronomer who gave a great lecture about out solar system at an astronomy club that I belong to.

And Rogelio Bernal Andreo, I love that portrait of Cassiopeia! It is just delightful!!! I particularly love the red arc of nebulosity centered on eruptive B0 star Gamma Cassiopeiae. I also love the Pacman Nebula at the "feet" of the "Queen" and the Owl Nebula flying upside down!

Oh wow! I just looked at Rogelio's image at maximum enlargement. Fantastic! There are so many deep sky objects in that image! For example, at bottom left, at perhaps seven o'clock, there is a red "arc", almost like a smiling mouth, that has to be a planetary nebula! I recognize so extremely few planetaries myself, and I have no idea if this one is famous, but it was so much fun to see it anyway!

I love the Corona Australis image, too. The image is fantastically deep and the sky is incredibly full of stars. I also love how the image brings out all the thin brownish nebulosity that thickens in only a few places where it can give rise to new stars.

And thank you, Bogdan Jarzyna and Wojciech Wesolowski, for your fantastic effort in imaging and labelling all the hydrogen emission nebulae in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Ann

That's an extremely interesting picture. In particular, note the nearly straight subsided area directly below the large crater near the bottom of the picture. It cuts right through the older jumbled terrain. Get out your red/blue glasses to see it in 3D.

That is a fantastically revealing and "unearthly beautiful" infrared and visible composite of the Horsehead and Flame Nebula area!

The Double Arch at Night image is absolutely magical, too.

I really like the Cederbald 214 picture too. I particularly like the subtly changing hues in this picture. A delightful "red light district" in the sky, generously decorated with shades of pinks and peach, even subtle hints of pale, pale blue.
