http://kepler.nasa.gov/education/sagan/ ... aganEssay/ Kids need to know not only that it is okay to be wrong, but that science is a continuous process of learning from mistakes and moving on. People want certainty and authorities to provide answers; they tend to care more about being right and belonging than finding out, and the modern media thrives on short attention spans and emotional reactions. But science and philosophy are about thinking things through carefully, looking for consistency and beauty, staying critical and enduring uncertainties in the search for truth.

Hello :)
I love the essay you put here. I love the poesy inside it, the wondeful images.

Nevertheless, i think the earth is not "the shore of the cosmic ocean", but just "one of an infinite number other shores".
There are so many worlds, i hope, so many other worlds than ours.

I remember a sentence, from Carl Sagan: "Look at that dot; that's here, that's home, that's us"
I love this one, because we remember how vast is the Universe.

Have a very good day!
