Things To Do Around The House

I seriously thought of putting in new windows this fall; but the cost made me do a little thinking. I decided to try to repair them instead. I bought some glazing and and caulk and got busy. It took me a couple of weeks but I got it done.I even painted around the windows and framework. I found one cracked window pane that I replaced. I think I did a nice job.
After completing that I decided that the trim around the eaves needed painting also. I took my time with this because I had to use an extension ladder; and it is pretty scary up there. After scraping and painting I got that done. Today I finished painting my patio rafters the same colors as the rest of my house. The eaves above my patio need scraping and painting but it is a little scary up there; so I may need to get a-round tu-it.
Than there is the leaves and the lawn. :? I wish the trees were done shedding so I could get that done before the snow flies. :)

owlice; you don't know how much I had to motivate myself to get mine done. I'm seriously thing about hiring someone to do the work above the patio roof. Thanks for the job offer though.

I have an inkling, since it has to be more than I've been able to motivate myself!

Anything higher than my kid's head that is outdoors, I won't do myself, so I fully understand!

I heard a lot of noise outside my house this morning, and wonder what on earth was going on out there... only to find that the noise was coming from my yard!! It was the yard guy with his industrial super lawn mower. Yay! I can cross that off my to-do list! ("Get someone else to mow the lawn." Check!) :-D

I'm glad you understand about heights; and than I have plenty to do inside the house also. I won't get into that though. Snow removal is coming soon! Sigh!!!

If the weather is nice today; I"m going to put up the Christmas lights around the eaves. I know they will be up there until March or April; depending on how soon Spring gets here.

It's time for year-round lights. Put them up once, program them for a particular season, let them shine for whatever holiday, and then reprogram them for the next. From Halloween's orange and purple to orange and yellow for Thanksgiving, then whatever for Christmas/Chanuka/Festiva/Kwanzaa, then just plain white for January, to match the snow. Red for Valentine's Day, green for St. Patrick's, and then pale blues, pinks, greens, and yellows for spring.

If I can have spoke lights on my bike which change color (and I can, because I do), surely the technology exists to make lights with multiple, programmable colors that one can leave up year-round! There's a fortune to be made here, I just know it!

Hi Rob! Looks like you have a full agenda for the week. Today I will mulch all the leaves on my lawn. There are a lot of them layered on the lawn; so I will have to go over them a couple of times. There are a lot of leaves still on the trees so it looks like I will have to repeat my efforts in a week or two. :)

I'm painting the living room now; or trying to! :) Seems at there was a lot of patching to do. It's hard to believe there is so many little prepping things to do. :? There is so many things to move away from the walls. I did get one wall done though. 8-)

Owlice; What is the pay scale? What about the benefit package.? Do I get a paid vacation? Seriously though any thing I get done is reward in itself. Today I got the lawn mowed;---a week overdo; and my grandson has a pony league game tonight; so I got to get rested up for that. :D

We had a lot of water in the basement; so we tore out the old carpet and I am in the process of replacing it with carpet tiles. It's an ongoing process as I have to move everything around in order to put the tiles in!
I'm also patching my sidewalk and drive. It's amazing how that winter deicer can eat up cement. Plus tree roots lifting up sidewalk causing trip spots.
