Dear group,
A few days ago I captured the ISS transiting the sun (as per
http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-Sat-Trans-2010-05-25.htm ) and less than a couple of hours ago I caught the ISS again in broad daylight but this time on a flyby of Jupiter.
Further details at
http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-Sat-ISS-2010-05-29.htm .... focusing was VERY difficult against a low contrast brightly-lit sky. Sol did help but there were no sunspots to finetune focusing and I got very lucky in getting as close to perfect focus as possible.
Anthony.

PS. Perhaps a more accurate description would be an
occultation of Jupiter by the ISS and as indicated by the annotated diagram below.

Thank you Miguel and owlice!
The image is front page on SpaceWeather and there is a serious amount of interest and feedback. Who would have thought that an occultation during broad daylight would be possible involving such a fast-moving object.
We have a couple of orbit manouvres coming up and, if all goes as planned, I should have a repeat of both a solar transit and another Jupiter occultation (speak about lightning striking twice).
Thanks again.
Anthony.
