The very busy Star Party

Post by AstroPhethean » Thu Apr 22, 2010 8:41 am

Hello,

I've just returned from SGL-5 star party this weekend and have been working through all the pictures.

I set up my Canon 450D on a static tripod, connected a timer remote and left it alone for just over 2 hours.

Image

Camera: Canon 450D, modified with Baader BCF filter. Kit lens at 18mm, f/6.3. ISO 400
Exposure: 218 images, each 30 seconds, with 5 second breaks.
Location: Lucksall campsite, Mordiford, Herefordshire.
Time and date: 23.40 - 01.46, 17th-18th April 2010.
Processing: Stacked in "Startrails" application. Post processing in Photoshop (motion blur on stars & curves)

The full size version of the image is on my website:

The sky is so orderly; the earthlings, not so much! :D
