Hi everybody,

As this is a forum for citizen science, I'm posting this add is to recruit volunteers for a small astronomy project.

The task is an easy one, you just have to take pictures of the moon on a specific date (any regular digital camera will do the work) and then send them to my email. I will post the results on my blog.

Please find the details here.

I encourage many people to participate, it's easy and the results will be interesting.

Questions or comments? ask all of them here, just reply this thread.

Thanks in advance,

Delonix.

my comment would be that people have to align their cameras to horizon or else you have no data to work with

Agree. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm writing better instructions on how to take the picture.

Hi,
looks really interesting & I'm in.
i just wanted to say that when i shoot the moon, there will be just a bright dot in the image due to wide angle, isn't better to take the it using a telescope?

Amir,

Thanks for your interest in the project.

I think neither wide angle lenses or a telescope is needed to have a picture of the moon good enough for the project's goal.

A regular digital camera will do the job perfectly. You can zoom in if you want, but that's optional.

Thanks again,

Delonix.
