And as much as the internet can assist one in dispelling such beliefs it also perpetuates them. It's such a difficult subject. I live with someone who is obsessed with eating habits and has fallen into the trap of confirmation bias. She watches youtube videos and reads articles all the time full of pseudoscience about toxins, cancer, diets, etc as long as it fits her mold of what she has already concluded. It's maddening to try to get her to just stop and think about what she's doing and I can't seem to offer any advice to help her get out of it.
