Uh oh, how do we know it crashed? What a clever way to gain a spy satellite.

I used to doubt if there was something wrong with my computer, so I couldn't see the flash.
Now I know the truth. But I believed that I must forgive them... And thanks for their hard working... (the voice lower and lower)

If that were a CANADIAN spacecraft it NEVER would have crashed. Our technolgy is simply superior. Applications for membership to Local Ottawa Cosmos Ottawa now being accepted.

AFIAK all lunar orbiting satellites are eventually crashed into the surface. The uneven distribution of dense material in the lunar body creates an uneven distribution of gravities effect on orbiting bodies. Maintaining a stable orbit requires constant inconsistant boosting to avoid crashing. So, even if a Canadian spacecraft were orbiting the moon, it too would require either a return to earth or a crashing end on the moon.

so, if you crash land on the moon and walk away, that is a pretty good landing and if you crash on the moon and can use the spacecraft again, that is a better landing.

Yeah, It is hard to crash one there if you've never sent one there.
AFIAK only about 5 or 6 of 194 nations have had successful lunar missions and onlt Russia and the US have had successful landing and return missions.

LOCO has not yet announced our successes, and we are not officially Canadian, as we accept no taxpayer money.

yes it is youtube is hard on copyright issues, i.e. material in breach of license can hang there for months/years, but if they spot it, it gets removed really quickly. some rightholders explicitly allow their stuff to be in there, e.g. I have a clip from Dead Snow and it says smth like "we know what you did; so far we don't care, but whenever the company orders us to take it down, we will".

I think there were some other clips of the crashing into the moon; but don't remember where I saw them. Maybe one could be pasted here?

Thanks! I didn't know that the video had been taken down. I have now edited that APOD to put in the new video link.
