Astronomical Mysticism
Astronomical Mysticism
Hi there!
Is the Big Bang theory mysticism? I'm not an astronomer since these questions...is there anything else in astronomy that could be considered mystic -from a scientist's point of view? Which are the theories which can be calculated -and still look like mysticism?
Hey, and what do you think of the theory that the Big Bang was only a transitional state and that there were many Big Bangs and time somehow can be eternal as well?

Doesn't sound like BBT to me, but then again I can't even grasp a falling stone.http://www.eastrovedica.net/?p=91 wrote:Astronomical Mysticism in the Rig Veda
The five fundamental circles, the Celestial Equator ( Vishuvat Vritta) , the Celestial Meridien ( Khagoleeya Dhruva Rekha ), the Ecliptic ( Kranti Vritta ), the Nodal Circle ( Vikshepa Vritta ) and the Celestial Horizon ( Kshithija ) were called by the Seers as Shahasra Seersha, Sahasra Purusha, Sahasra Kha, Sahasra Path & Sahasra Bhoomi. This is given in the Hymn, the Purusha Sooktha, that the Zodiacal Man or Time Eternal lies coiled as the mighty Zodiac !

Hello apodman,
That's okay, no one else can grasp a falling stone either.

Of course it's mysticism .. 'cosmic egg' .. the Easter Bunny laid the universe.

Mysticism, metaphysics, and spirituality have no place in a scientific forum. Astronomy, astrophysics, and physical cosmology are scientific endeavors and the primary focus of this forum. While early cosmology and cosmonogy may be indistinguishable from religion, superstition, and metaphysics, they are not the focus of this forum. Please try to limit your discussions to science and the scientific method, particularly as they apply to astronomy, astrophysics, and physical cosmology, and please try to stay on topic.
