I have a theory that the proverbial Biblical 40 years (Moses in the wilderness, etc.)
comes from the solar/Mercury/Venus cycle of about 40 years (of ~365.0 days):

Were you really born on Valentines Day? That's OK My wife was born on St. Patrick's Day i944. She's my little Leprechaun. 8)

My wife's father was strongly pro-English and forced her to wear orange on St. Patrick's Day.
