Is This Cool Or What?? (APOD 2008 Oct 20)

Looking at the recent Cassini pic from Saturn, I know it has been said a million times, but I still can't get over that human beings built a machine and sent it millions of miles away and it's orbiting the coolest planet in our Solar System. I have a hard time, as I imagine most of us do, trying to contemplate the distance to that planet. It is sooooo far away from here.

Maybe the second coolest planet, I would need to give the amazing blue orb of Earth first place.

Also, welcome to APOD!

I think Pluto is the coolest ... uh, never mind.

In terms of temperature it would be coolest

Welcome to APOD Invisidrone! Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to contemplate infinity for a long time? I do sometimes but the annoying honking at the traffic light distracts me.

Other than Earth, Saturn is the aesthetically coolest planet system IMO. I mean those rings and now the geometric polar storms and the possibly seasonal colors.

Ask a kid to draw a picture of a planet you’re typically going to get a circle with a ring around it. Kids know what’s cool!

Actually, it would be Neptune. Pluto is no longer a planet. :)

Pluto will always be a planet in my book. So is Ceres; Sedna; etc. 8)

Obviously you are non-union

So, would Pluto / Charon be a double planet?
