That very well might be.
Kinda hard to tell since it's not a great image but it looks like a meteor.

Finding sporadic meteors on Mauna Kea's CONCAM would be particulatly useful, as a corresponding meteor image might be found on Haleakala's CONCAM and some height and path information might be obtainable.

Fireball on 3/12UT ?!?

My neighbor (a fine, upstanding citizen not given to UFO-ism
told me this weekend that he had seen a spectacular W->E meteor/fireball about 10 minutes after 10PM local on Friday night 3/11 (0810+/- 031205 UT). He described a classic, with a long greenish tail splitting into five smaller pieces near zenith which disappeared before reaching the eastern horizon, accompanied by a sonic boom (too bad I missed that one!)
I finally got around to looking for it, and - I think we got it - see
http://nightskylive.net/hl/hl050312/hl0 ... 81250p.jpg
- that bright smudge to the NE of Pollux appears to be the object.
Anyone else find anything on this?

I would be careful about drawing any conclusions based on this frame or for that matter any other frame from that night. Looking over the movie file, the night is mostly cloud and there appears to be water on the center of the lens. Therefore, given that this bright smug is near the center, it very well could be some type of distortion from water on the lens. Since it is cloudy in this frame, which prevents us from seeing if this smug as any type of trail that are present for most meteors CONCAMS see, I don't think we can make any conclusions. I will check and see if any other CONCAMs saw something around this time.

Possible Sporadic Meteor on HL Concam, but I can not find anything on the corresponding MK Concam due to the Moon.
