M78 and Reflecting Dust Clouds in Orion (APOD 18 Mar 2008)

Post by Erilon » Wed Mar 19, 2008 9:34 am

Hello everyone

This is my first post in this forum. So please be patient ;)

Yesterday, like every morning, I watched the NASA Image of the day. To my surprise I saw a little genie (his profile) in the image. Ha ha ha
It looks like he is watching through a window.
Can you see him?

Welcome, Erilon! Jump on in! :D And don't worry - most of us are pretty patient.
I did see what you were talking about - how the dust clouds look similar to a face in a sort of profile. It looked that way to me, too. Pretty neat!

Again, welcome aboard!
Forget the box, just get outside.

Hey, people have seen a likeness of Jesus in the Cone Nebula, so why not?

Thanks for pointing him out. I've looked at that area many times and haven't noticed that face before. Now I'll probably never be able to not see it. :)

It's amazing what our imagination can do! It's like watching cloudes on a balmy day. :P
