Moved?

From time to time various threads are "moved" (into the "cafe"?).

As far as I can tell all this does not put a lock on these threads in the sense that more posts can be added. But the board listing does not recognize these new posts such that the thread is allowed to slowly descend in the listing.

I'm not objecting to this procedure; I'm just trying to understand (since it is not, as far as I can tell, covered in the FAQ).

If a thread is not an APOD but still is of astronomy; It will be mooved to the Cafe so that it may still be discussed. This thread will probably wind up there. So;-- if you start such a thread and want to discuss it you may as well put it in the Cafe to begin with.

Thanks, Orin.

How does one "put it in the Cafe to begin with"?

You can log on to Asterisk Cafe; log on; and post your thread. Same log on as The Asterisk. You can also use the [jump to drag down] at the bottom of The Asterisk page and go to the cafe by clicking on the Cafe link.
I hope I'M not confusing :? anybody. :)

I have a link I use to quickly check for any new posts in any forum since I last logged in. Sometimes some of the other NSL forums show up, but most of the time it's just the Cafe and APOD.
