Walter mailed me back (he's still going through the 2200 replies he got!) after I contacted him with my thoughts. He states that a Brocken Spectre is formed in water droplets and is much lest distinct than the halo in his picture.
He says not to miss his lecture about it on Dec 7th. Anyone want to put me up near MIT? (just kidding
