I had the data since April 2016, although the Luminance was more or less good, the RGB channels did not have much signal and the data has been parked until a couple of weeks ago, with the confinement by the coronavirus, I have taken the opportunity to process the astrophoto and this is the result, I hope you like it !!

Gabriela Mistral in the Sky with Diamonds

Gabriela Mistral is a Southern Hemisphere nebula that bears the name of the chilean poet Gabriela Mistral, because of a resemblance with the poet's profile (which is really striking once you've seen the photo). I only knew Pablo Neruda before. The title is of course a paraphrase of the famous Beatles song, "Lucy in the sky with diamonds", that actually was at the origin of the name given to Lucy, our australophitecine ancestor discovered by Donald Johanson in Hadar, Ethiopia. The song was played in the evening on the archeological camp. The diamonds are really well symbolized by the open cluster close to the center, NGC 3293, that contains multiple blue supergiants and a red supergiant.

When I centered the comet in my 20 "telescope, and I took the first test photo, I didn't believe my eyes: there was only a slight oblong spot just blurred! Then I thought it was a weak galaxy, and I tried again to aim with more precision, however it was always the same! When I took a longer photo, then here it is! It is always beautiful and developed, but its brightness has come down brutally. Hopefully it won't break and break up completely! Happy Easter to all !

Langrenus Crater

Crater Langrenus is relatively young, with wide internal walls (average width of 20 km) and in the form of steps or contour lines ("* terraces *"), but deformed.

Its floor is extensive and flat, a little rough (with the presence of pieces of rocks) with a massive central mountain, which reaches an altitude of 1000m at its peak.

NGC 6992 - The Network Nebula (a.k.a. the Eastern Veil Nebula) by George Bok, on Flickr

Pleiades Star Cluster - Messier 45 by Delberson Tiago de Souza, no Flickr

This is a 25 pane mosaic of Cassiopeia taken at 530mm focal length. There are 350 hours of exposure in the image taken over 5 years.
The image is dominated by the central Breaking Wave Nebula spreading out from Gamma Cass to the Pacman nebula, but many more Sharpless nebula, clusters, and NGC objects are seen in great depth and resolution.
Each pane consists of approx 14hrs of LHaRGB data. Some frames have additional 03 data added in too.

Fragmentation of Comet C2019 Y4 (ATLAS)
on April 10th 2020 at 1:00 UT

Fragmentation of the comet nuclei is clearly seen.
Unfortunately, this decreases the chances the comet reaches the expected brightness.

PETAVIUS CRATER


Very complex crater.
Its internal walls are steep and irregular, with a rough appearance. It has a depth of 3.4 km and its floor was covered by lava. It has a central system of mountains with multiple peaks.
A narrow depression or channel (created in the past, when basaltic lava flowed through fractures in the crust), starts in the central mountains of the crater and crosses its inner floor towards its southwestern edge. This channel is known as Rimae Petavius and is 82 km long.

“ Find your shooting star! The physical isolation is a unique self-reflection opportunity; look for what has been ignored. Just like this meteor passing by the Pleiades captured in 2018 during the Perseid meteor shower. It was not until months after taking this frame at the Long Sault conservation area, outside Toronto, Canada, that I noticed it. Right at the edge of the picture. Maybe the stars are more distorted than I would prefer, or the noise could be lower. However, satisfaction cannot be measured by these quantities. It is about the quality of such Aha! moments that give life a purpose . Even if it was ignored for years or lasts a fraction of a second; like this meteor burning in the Earth’s atmosphere.
