Milkyway Gems
Copyright: Amit Ashok Kamble (Auckland Astronomical Society)
This album contains a stacked milkyway image and annotated images made from 10 x 60sec images.
Stacked in Nebulosity and Processed in Photoshop.
Images were taken last year in August, when the milkyway was close to horizon, pretty surprised to see the details retained as the image was shot when the milkyway was about to enter the muck.
Also, is an annoted image that zooms into few objects in the milkyway core which can easily be imaged using a DSLR.
The image was shot using Samyang 24mm on Canon 6D and tracked using Jonathan's Vixen Polarie.
Exif: 10 x 60sec, ISO 3200, f2.8, using Samyang 24mm on Canon 6D

"In may, the Milky Way rises on the East parallel to the horizon. After a wonderful night of stargazing at the OAC (Astronomic Observatory of Cotobade) in Spain with my friends and colleagues of Sirio, the Astronomic Association of Pontevedra, I took some photos to produce this picture. In the middle, the OAC building, high above, the Milky Way arch, from Sagitario to Casiopea, the Summer Triangle rising near the vertex. We can see some meteor traces to the left, perhaps some late ETA Aquarids?"

Title: The dark southern skies.
The andes, the magical landscapes of Patagonia, and the iguazu falls are the most popular reasons why someone would want to visit Argentina. But what many people don't realize is that dark skies on clear nights can show the milky way and the magellanic clouds in its full glory. The skies of certain parts of Argentina can be a unique experience for any astrophotographer. Light pollution is practically none if you get away from the big cities.
Panoramic shot showing the milky way and one of the magellanic clouds during a new moon night. Full harmony in this composition between the sky and the hills at Abra del Hinojo, Argentina.

Summer is comming
Jubierre is one of the most impressive areas of Los Monegros-Zaragoza-Spain. It is spacious declining representing the connection between depression of Sariñena, through which the river Alcanadre and the upper platform. The nature of the materials has favored the installation of an extensive network of ravines. The intensity of erosion has led to all kinds of reliefs and very unique ways.
Place: La Sierra de Jubierre - El Tozal del Solitario- Zaragoza - Spain.

Milky Way over Río Salado
Located at provincia de Buenos Aires Argentina.
3 stacked images for the sky, a longer exposure for the ground to get details of the Milky Way reflected on the Water.
Processed on photoshop and I decided to go to blue tones because for a surrealistic artisctic vision.

Castle Rock is a stunning landmark which towers 162m above the beach of Castlepoint in the Wairarapa, New Zealand. The view from the top is simply breathtaking, making the hike up there totally worth it...although the climb at night is much more challenging, and I certainly got a sense of vertigo going up there, especially when I sat on the edge of the cliff with all my camera gear to get this shot. But in the end it was amazing just being up there, watching the galactic center of the Milky Way rising to the east over the horizon, and it's something I'd certainly do again!

I created this mosaic originally consisting of 5 panels and later cropped to make 4 panels. 187 individual frames and a total exposure time of over 18 hours make up this Mosaic which covers an area approximately 6.5 x 5.4 degrees.
