Astrotrekkers (Csillagtúrázók)
Since 2013, every once in a while I take a group of people out of the city to a fairly dark place to wander around on the sky. In a nutshell: we hike for about an hour in the woods, reach a clear hilltop, we play the "invent your own constellations" game, I speak about both the cultural references and the hard science behind what's on the sky at the moment, wave a green laser pointer, then we take the group photo and head home. I call these public, free, naked eye observation events
csillagtúra in Hungarian, which is a play on words. Csillag=star, túra=trekking/trip, csillagtúra=different trips taken from and returning to the same camp (see the shape of the trips on a map). Only after a year I realized that translated into English it is very-very-very close to... startrek
.
This is one of those group photos, the best due to the unusually clear sky (otherwise light pollution would have ruined it).

Waiting for the total eclipse from Faroe Islands
While waiting for the solar eclipse, we've observed a great auroral display. Unfortunately clouds, always present on these islands, partially covered the show. We really hope to have good luck on March 20!
