Oh dear, I can't resist a puzzle!

NGC 3324 is also called the Gabriela Mistral nebula, because of the striking resemblance with the Nobel Prize winning Chilean poet, who was born and raised in the Elqui region, home to the Cerro Tololo, Cerro Pachon and Cerro Morado professional observatories.
But, I really have GOT to get back to work!
Have you another puzzle up your sleeve, Ann?? Please post it if you do!

Actually, I've got one more.
Click to play embedded YouTube video.
In what way can these two guys be considered astronomical?

They're both far-out, like astronomical things.
They act crazy, like what goes on with merging galaxies.
They both shed their outer layers (jackets), like some stars about to change.
Could also be like a rouge star getting temporarily caught in another stars gravitational influence.
Can't think of anything more right now.(and maybe never)

Beyond, parts of your answer are warm! Hot, even! :D :D :D

Now we just need the name of that astronomical thing(?)!

Do you mean the official designated name given to the event, or what the event is called, like galaxy merger, super nova, ETC.

Beyond, you mentioned several possibilities. Now think of what the two guys are called (look at the youtube video).

Is there something astronomical that shares that name? Hmmmmmmm?

Well, first... i think the one with the pony tail is a woman. Which would fit in with -ingénue-, a naïve young woman.
And of course everything is made up of -atoms-.
So nothing there that i can see that means anything.

Forget the Ingenue, Beyond. But the atoms are important. What is the band called?

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap101116.html

That should be click-on-able, Beyond.
Some time back, bystander told me how to look up Apods in the archives - this is
ap101116
Which means
Year (20)10
Month 11 (November)
Day 16

The archives are get-at-able from the bottom left of the main Apod screen.

Click-on-able :?:
Do you have a fondness for hyphenated things, Margarita :?:
I looked around the result of the collided galaxies (ap101116) but didn't find anything about the (band) that Ann referred to.

Look at the title of the Apod! And the band has the same name - ATOMS FOR PEACE. Very strange names for both of them and I've not heard of them before.

Sometimes I use hyphens because my tablet computer gets stuck and won't produce the word that I want. Don't know why - it just happens sometimes. And when my arms are aching, using a keyboard isn't possible, so I am stuck with the limitations of the tablet. C'est la vie.

ha-ha, sometimes your electronic gizmo works as bad as mine. :lol2:
So... the two guys are like the two galaxies, then :?:
But what-the-heck is the "band" :?: :?:

Ah! An easy puzzle to solve :!: You're POOPED.
I've worn you out, in your trying to get me to find out what i didn't know.
Let that be a lesson for you. I can be really dense sometimes. :lol2:
Moonlady might come up with something as she's wheeling around in her nice-for-a-change weather.
Or... Margarita might come up with something as she's wheely-ing around also.
I wonder why bystander has never made a puzzle :?: :?:
He knows a lot about a lot of things, from all the posting he's done.

Okay, my poopiness has momentarily passed, so I'm posting another question!
Image
These children are playing with bankrolls as big as bricks. They have more than eighty "bricks" made of banknotes. It takes a special situation for children to play with money like this, particularly when the children aren't rich.

When did the universe experience a "similar" situation? (Even if the only similarity was the designation!)

Just after the beginning. Don't remember just what was said. Maybe it coincided with a certain point of cooling down. Don't think i can get more exact than that.

I think the word you're searching for, Beyond, is "inflation". From Wikipedia...
In physical cosmology, cosmic inflation, cosmological inflation or just inflation is the theorized extremely rapid exponential expansion of the early universe by a factor of at least 1078 in volume, driven by a negative-pressure vacuum energy density.[1] The inflationary epoch comprises the first part of the electroweak epoch following the grand unification epoch. It lasted from 10−36 seconds after the Big Bang to sometime between 10−33 and 10−32 seconds. Following the inflationary period, the universe continued to expand, but at a slower rate.
(And I'm guessing those children are German, in the time period following WWI.)

Ann asked WHEN did the similar situation take place. Because of the picture, i already knew she was talking about inflation, but didn't know how to express it like you did, Rob, and still don't because of the Sherlock Holmes effect. ((that's something neufer posted elsewhere))
