A long exposure during the eclipse shows the illuminated moon from the light reflected off Earth. Nine automated photos taken mid-totality with exposures from 1 second to 1/500s captured the dynamic range for a super HDR image.

This image shows an a so-called Pellett processing of the Solar Corona during the last eclipse as made in Teton Village, WY. I made about 22 images using several exposures to try to catch the complete corona during the eclipse and the surrounding star field. The equipment used for this image was a Nikon D810a equipped with a 300mm f/4 Nikon lens. The exposures ranged from 1/800s @ f/8 to 4s @ f/4 at iso 200.

In this image it can be seen how large the corona was during the eclipse, ranging up to 5.000.000 km in this image and even more outside of the image coverage. In total there are about 30 stars visible in the image up to a magnitude of +9.5.

I was astonished to see how far the corona could be distinguished in the images, and will never forget the sight of the streamers as they were visible..

Hi Everyone,

This may be a bit late compared to others, but below is my eclipse image. It was taken in Mitchell, Oregon, with a Takahasi FSQ-106N on an AP900 with a Canon 5D Mark II.

If you zoom in you can see both Regulus and it's double star. In addition the Sun's chromosphere is visible on the Moon's eastern limb as well as prominences on the western limb. The moon can also be seen thanks to Earthshine. The moon's limbs were washed out by the bright corona, so I cropped a few pixels around the edge to give slightly better overall balance to the image.

It is a combination of multiple exposures ranging from 1/8000th of a second to 2 seconds (to capture the outer corona and Earthshine). In processing it I tried to balance it to reflect to what we actually saw naked eye, although the moon is enhanced. I've also included a link to the full size image below the picture:
