The Galactic Core of the Milky Way rises to the east, silhouetting and an old fishing boat that ran aground in a storm. The boat has been abandoned and makes for an interesting subject to photograph. I climbed up onto the boat that night and illuminated the cabin with a simple headlamp. This image is a single exposure photograph.

This is commonly called Tower House. It's found on Comb Ridge in Utah. Tower House is an ancient two story structure with vegas (wooden roof beams) still intact! This was taken somewhat early in the evening, sometime around 7:30 or 8:00pm before the moon had time to rise in the middle of February. The night was as dark as it gets. This is a single exposure, all of the light was generated by gently placing a headlamp just inside the door of the structure.

Description: I recorded a total of 22 pics (1 GB video each), aligned and rotated, offset and superimposed them. Objects: Europa, Ganymede, Jupiter. The noisy background is the sum of the sensor noise, its area reflect the original framing of the webcam. On this picture time passes downwards, East is to the left, North is upwards.
150/750 newtonian, 2x barlow, webcam, eq3. The seeing was very bad

Comet C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy) imaged on January 25, 2015 into a field of 4.5 deg lenght and 2 deg width. The tail still showing structures in spite of seems less active than previous days. Under comet head there is a cluster of small galaxies, being the brightest NGC 1060.

I was just looking at this photo again this morning and have to say I find it astonishingly beautiful. It's like the camera is not there. A little difficult to explain, but the camera introduces a lot of its own nature into photographs but I find its effects minimal here. The smoothness and subtlety of the Milky Way is conveyed flawlessly. It is subtle and yet it is also bright and very obvious.

Showcasing the full dynamic range of this field well without looking unnatural is quite difficult but by using various short to medium exposure times and blending them all together it correct ratios, it is possible to reveal the
elusive twin lobed ejecta of the Homunculus Nebula around the bright and massive star Eta Carina (bellow the keyhole nebula), the Fickle Finger (just above right of the Keyhole)
and also show the insides of the keyhole and it's surrounds.
