The curve is oriented at the corresponding direction and altitude for the temple,
I don't think so . . .

From the shadows on the capitals of the columns, and from the lack of shadows everywhere else, the sun must have been at the photographer's back. So why is the analemma visible in this photo? It should be behind us. :?:

I notice on Google Earth that the promontory behind the Temple of Apollo lies about 33° East of North. Must be an unusual Geodetic Anomaly present for the Sun to get that far North at Corinth, hm?
