Hey- I eat some of those organisms. Always a good idea to avoid anthropomorphizing your food! It's like naming meat animals on a farm... most people avoid doing that. <g>

This leaves me with an awful temptation to name a burger "Art."

Is he wearing bicycle safety glasses to maintain his secret identity?

Beyond and Star*Hopper, thanks for prodding me; the Bomber safety glasses worked really well. Went riding tonight; got back to my car at 10 PM (which is late for me; I don't know how that happened) -- no bugs in my eyes, woo-hoo!!!

But wow, I was getting hit everywhere else with really BIG bugs. And I had bats buzzing me along part of the trail, including two who flew along with me for a ways (in two different places). I don't know why they do that, and I wish they'd cut it out!

The bats are just trying to figure out why(and how)a Great Horned Owl is peddling a mechanical contraption. Perhaps if you put your arms out and flap a little, they will leave you alone :?:

Owling's a hoot, and planking's so June, hmm? :ssmile:

What report are you waiting for, Beyond? I used the clear specs for biking last night for the first time; they worked really well. One little bug did find its way around the specs, but I just lifted them and the wind carried him away. No need to stop to dump water into my eyes, no picking bugs out of my eyes for the next 12-24 hours. Woo-hoo!

And I really need to change the batteries in the headlight that's on my helmet; last night's ride made that very clear!

I had decided that I wanted a dinner salad from a place that is at the end of one set of trails; usually takes me about 28 minutes to bike that distance. I started out really late, though, and had to push it to reach the place before it closed at 9 PM. Took me 21 minutes last night, and I got there with time to spare. (I got the salad to go. Unfortunately, I had not secured my bungee net when I put the bike on the car rack, so lost that on the drive to the trailhead. I had to make due with regular bungees, and now I have to go buy a new bungee net. :( )

That's why I'm a little confused about how late it was when I got back to the car; I left the place at 9 PM, and sure, bungeeing the salad to the rack took a few minutes, but ... 10:00 PM? A whole hour? I did take a longer way back; just don't understand how it could have possibly taken an hour.

Maybe they were riding your wake (like dolphins and ships) , or just eating the bugs your light attracted :?
