Yesterday my wife made a batch of dill pickles; slices and spears; I love the spears! Must have about a dozen pints! Today I made another batch of tomatoes to freeze; I must have about 45 pints of frozen tomatoes! We really had a good crop this year!

Lets see if I can still do this! We got a little garden and I picked a whopper tomato! It weighted out at 1.933 pounds!

My wife already cut into it! part of it went into a BLT I had for supper! Other tomatoes we had turned into 28 cups of frozen tomatoes. I blanch them, skin them, cut them in chunks, boil them, bag them and freeze them in two cup zip lock bags and freeze them! There are still a lot of them in the garden! Darn squirrels want a share of them also!

I was teasing my wife and told her i was thinking of planting a pumpkin this year! Needless to say she didn't like the idea! Takes up the whole back yard! But I will plant tomatoes and cucumbers; maybe some peppers! And yes; I can hardly wait to get it all in the ground!

Haha! Pumpkins. My friend planted a pumpkin a few years ago, and when we looked at it together it was hanging sedately near its "parent plant". But a few days later it had rolled several meters away - make that several yards for you Americans.
I would love to see a pumpkin actually "escaping"! It must look incredible.

Well; I did start my garden yesterday! I planted 4 Sweet 100's tomatoes: a new variety for me! I don't know much about them; but the picture looked similar to Cherry Tomatoes! We will see! Today I will plant some Beef Stake and maybe Early girl! Two of my favorites! I am hoping cold mornings stay above freezing as the forecasts seem to suggest!

Are Beef Stake and Early Girl tomatoes?
Is Sweet 100 a name, and if so, did you plant four of these tomato "plants"?
Whatever, it sounds lovely! Tomatoes are yummy. Good luck with your garden, Orin!
