A “mineral lunar” mosaic (oversatured to exalt colors), made up by 3 photos of 3 parts of the Moon for luminance channel + one photo for RGB channel. You can see the Moon in waning crescent phase (40% illuminated). More explanation on the link:

This image is a composite made of 2 photos I took in Croatia this summer. It is an artistic vision of the Milky Way, which is
flipped by 90 degrees. It is not possible to see nor photograph Milky Way like that in a northern hemisphere!
The sky was tracked using Skywatcher Star Adventurer to get the best quality (I can do) out of it. Photographed with my astro-modified Canon 6D and Sigma 35 mm f/1,4 lens.
15 x 60" f/2.8 ISO 3200 stacked, tracked

NGC 578 in Cetus

At 70 million light years away, NGC 578 floats majestically among many other distant galaxies. Small
pink and blue regions scattered along the spiral arms hint at the star forming going on. One background
galaxy (yellow feature left of the galaxy core) seems to protrude up from the arms of NGC 578 but in
reality it is many millions of light years beyond and we are looking at it "through" NGC 578.

NGC 278 – A Burst of Star Formation
Trying a rarely imaged 2' x 2' galaxy (about the size of the Ring Nebula) with my planetary setup. Hubble tried this too...

Wow, George, I love it! This may the first time I've seen a good RGB image of this galaxy, which caught my interest many years ago when I saw it as a UBV image in James D Wray's
Color Atlas of Galaxies. Hubble beat you when it came to resolution, but you sure beat Hubble when it comes to bringing out the beautiful colors of this fascinating starburst galaxy! (Which reminds me a bit of starburst ring galaxy M94.)

Oh wow, Freddy, this picture is just amazing! Totally fantastic! The sheer incredible number of small stars peppering the screen, the amazing colors, the Milky Way as a beach of dark seaweed and millions of dark and light and colorful grains of sand and tiny glittering jewels.... It's marvellous!
Oh, P.S. I just remembered that you had posted another absolutely fantastic picture here at Starship Asterisk*, a picture of IC 1396 and The Elephants Trunk Nebula:

Hi Ann, as always, your comments are brilliant !! and they make me discover new details and aspects of the photo, and that I have spent many hours in front of it, the millions of stars and the diversity of colors and shades it contains have complicated the processing, now reading your words I know that I have done well !! thanks !!

The Wizard Nebula (a.k.a. SH2-142) is located just 8000 light years away in the constellation of Cepheus. The nebulosity surrounds the open star cluster NGC 7380 and the active star forming region is about 100 light years across.
