APOD: Hurricane Harvey Strengthens (2017 Aug 26)

Geck, one thing I've figured out after spending some time watching video of hurricanes from space. (Without yet having gotten any better at understanding motions in galaxies) I am pretty sure you're right to say the motion of the clouds is nothing like what would be happening in a galaxy. The motion is actually outward in most cases I've seen now. The clouds in the spirals are constantly being shed outward. I'd say it's pretty certain that this is not what's happening to the stars in the arms of a spiral galaxy.
